I need neck surgery and can't afford it. Where can I find help with getting this procedure. I can't work and can' afford anything. Are there any charities out there that help people like me?

If you can't work you're considered disabled. Contact your nearest Social Security Office. If you qualify you're eligible for monthly payments and some insurance coverage.

Don't forget that neck surgery can be like buying a house- just the beginning of the expenses- not all surgeries go well; 2nd + 3rd surgeries might have to happen. Scar tissue might make you dependant on costly medications- surgery is always a last option. If it is medically necessary and there are ZERO options left than so be it BUT do your research- once you have surgery, you are never the same- "sometimes better " but certainly NOT always. If it is disc surgery, the discs above and below might later have issues- level effect other levels- surgeries often make discs week. Also, just because 1 disc is herniated, does NOT mean, that is the root of the pain- it could be radiating to other levels like a rattle in a car. Surgery is to be A LAST OPTION.

There is not enough information in this to state for a fact that you do in deed need such surgery. What are your problems you are suffering from? Have you seen a doctor about this within the last 6 months? Has any doctor even talked about surgery before? Have you tried any other treatments before coming to this decision?
