Are You Suffering from Neck Pain?

The more you know about neck pain causes the better off you will be. Believe it or not, most people suffer from neck pain causes at some point in their life. Yours may be more serious than others, or maybe it is just a minor tweak. But no matter what, if you know what this is all about and how to address the problem you will be better off. This is one of those potential health concerns that you want to know a lot about even if you are not suffering.

So what neck pain causes are most common? It is hard to say what cause is the most common of them all, but many believe that it is muscle strains. If you pull a muscle in your neck or back it can lead to a lot of pain in the area. In fact, the pain can be so bad that it may make you wonder if you didn't hurt yourself in another way.

Of course, there are more serious issues that can come up over time. For instance, a herniated disk can lead to a lot of pain and eventually cause problems in other areas as well. This is something that needs treated by an experienced doctor, and may even call for surgery depending on how bad your situation is.

Finally, another one of the most common neck pain causes is injury. This can include anything from a car accident to falling down. Landing on your neck the wrong way or being suddenly hit without notice can lead to injury to the neck and back.

If you are suffering from neck pain it is important to receive a proper diagnosis. Even if you think you know what the problem is you should see your doctor just to make sure. Neck pain is not something that you want to take lightly as minor problems can linger and get worse over time.

Now that you know more about neck pain causes you are in better position to handle this problem should you begin to suffer.

Is neck surgery to make the neck longer possible?
I know everyone is saying there is no such surgery, but although risky it should be possible. Just like how scientists have been working to figure out if people could have body transplants, they came to the conclusion it can be possible but extremely risky.I was born with a disability and I have a neck so short it looks like I have no neck. From behind it goes my back, then my head. You can't see a neck. And in the front there is barely a neck so my face is really close to my chest and it looks so abnormal. I look like a mentally ill midget because I am so short as well. Please don't take offense in this, because I am calling myself this Anyhow, I am so unhappy I have thought about suicide, etc. but that is clearly crazy to even consider. I am not giving up, even if the doctors say there is not a way to fix this there has to be some advanced doctor out there who is better than the others and more willing to take risks.

How long will neck surgery take for arthritic pain, help my mom is still in surgery?
My mom has been experiencing arthritic pain for a long time in her neck, and her surgey was scheduled for 1 00 pm eastern standard time today, and I called the hospital at 3 00, and the receptionist said she was still in OR, it didn't tell the lady whether my mom had a room yet. Just wondering how long these types of surgeries last? I had heart surgery to repair 2 rare heart conginetal heart conditions I was born with that wasn't discovered until 2 years ago at age 24, and I was under anesthesia for 5 hours, which is long, just don't know how long a surgery would take for arthritic pain in the neck or neck pain? I don't know the exact name of her procedure, just know it's to repair neck pain problems. It's about 4 00 pm now eastern standard time. Start time of surgery 1 00 estimated, and I called in at 3 00 to the hospital. Just haven't heard from my aunt yet, who is with her. I just called again at 4 00, and she is still listed as in the OR on the receptionist's computer.

He can't seem to poop and its making him feel really lousy. Is that bad? Or is it just normal? He had his surgery on Thursday. It is Sunday.

Could we file unemployment or would we have to do a temporary disability?I don't know if age would have anything to do with it but he will be 30 next month.I don't know if age would have anything to do with it but he will be 30 next month.

How bad is neck surgery at c-4 and c-5?
I have a bone fragment pressing seriously at both vertebrae into my spinal cord, causing me to become at least 70 % disabled in walking and feeling. This piece has to be removed, and I also have bad degeneration at both. So, if they take this out and take out both vertebrae, will I take a long recovery and is it very painful?Gramma can you tell me more? I am suppose to see a neurosurgeon at Ohio State U on Monday. The neurosurgeons are going to operate very soon. There will be a fusion, along with a bone graft and plate. The graft is supposed to come from a cadaver. The best thing is one surgeon said that I will gain feeling immediately. I have barely felt my feet and can't walk coordinate. I've fallen hard at least 50 times in 6 months. My original, now former neurologist, from an out of town practice, didn't see this. Why? The first surgeon I saw Monday said it is a " ruptured disc" . My new neurologist at OSU ,saw a problem and immediately sent me to this team of surgeons at OSU. They are very thorough and I love having them.

Had neck surgery six days ago. I now have chest pains, can't pass gas and I am constipated. Any ideas?

My father just had neck surgery and cannot lift his right arm?
My father just had the discs C4 C5 fused, and C5 C6 also fused. He just had the surgery a few days ago, maybe a week at the most. However, after the surgery everything was fine, but now he can barely lift is right arm a few inches off the arm rest of the chair. His left arm is completely fine.Any idea why this is happening? Is it normal?

Just Had Neck Surgery?
I had neck surgery last Thursday. I had a fusion of the foraminal openings at C6 C7 on both sides of my neck. The horrible nerve pain I had down my arm and numbness is already gone even though the neurosurgeon had said the nerves were horribly crushed and it could take some time for them to settle down. I am having a little stabbing pain at the base of my neck into the trapezius muscle primarily on the right side which was worse than the left to begin with. I am also pretty stiff all up and down my neck. Is this fairly normal and how long should I expect to feel this way before I start to improve? I know it will take time, but I was pretty out of it when the surgeon was talking to me post op and I really don't remember most of what he said in terms of what to expect with my recovery. Overall, I don't feel to bad. But, he did say I may not get 100 % relief because he wasn't able to fix everything and I have a lot of degeneration. How long is realistic before I start to notice big improvements other than the nerve pain being gone? I know getting rid of the nerve pain is a huge improvement by itself. But I was curious about how long the rest will last? Thanks
