Are You Suffering from Neck Pain?
The more you know about neck pain causes the better off you will be.
Believe it or not, most people suffer from neck pain causes at some
point in their life. Yours may be more serious than others, or maybe it
is just a minor tweak. But no matter what, if you know what this is all
about and how to address the problem you will be better off. This is one
of those potential health concerns that you want to know a lot about
even if you are not suffering.
So what neck pain causes are most common? It is hard to say what
cause is the most common of them all, but many believe that it is muscle
strains. If you pull a muscle in your neck or back it can lead to a lot
of pain in the area. In fact, the pain can be so bad that it may make
you wonder if you didn't hurt yourself in another way.
Of course, there are more serious issues that can come up over time.
For instance, a herniated disk can lead to a lot of pain and eventually
cause problems in other areas as well. This is something that needs
treated by an experienced doctor, and may even call for surgery
depending on how bad your situation is.
Finally, another one of the most common neck pain causes is injury.
This can include anything from a car accident to falling down. Landing
on your neck the wrong way or being suddenly hit without notice can lead
to injury to the neck and back.
If you are suffering from neck pain it is important to receive a
proper diagnosis. Even if you think you know what the problem is you
should see your doctor just to make sure. Neck pain is not something
that you want to take lightly as minor problems can linger and get worse
over time.
Now that you know more about neck pain causes you are in better
position to handle this problem should you begin to suffer.
How do you know when a neck injury is serious?
I hurt my neck on the trampoline today. I was doing a forward handspring and landed on my head then my body came down twisting my neck. So basically I landed on my head and then my neck. It hurt pretty good at first and I felt the pain shooting through my shoulder to my hand. I felt that for like 30 minutes. Now my neck still hurts but not as bad and my head hurts as well. I am not sure if it is just sore or if it can be something serious. So I wanted to know how would you know if a neck injury is serious?I was thinking about going in tonight but not sure if I am over reacting.
Should I be embarrass because I have priapism due to neck injury? my wife say's no, no treatment has worked?
I broke my neck but still have use of all my limbs, thank God.. But there was quite a bit of damage to my autonomic nervous system, and I have a massive hard on all the time like 20 hrs a day.. Not only is it embarrassing but gets very painful, my wife says no reason to be embarrassed but I always am...She say's don't be but how can I not be?? It's not like I can hide it..
Severe chronic headaches from neck injury?
For nearly 2 years I have been dealing with frequent headaches on basis of nearly every other or every third day. I first noticed them when I initially began lifting weights nearly 2 years ago as they would and still do pop up suddenly when I lift a significant amount of weight. I have been suffering from this ever since and, now doing Crossfit regularly, often have to scale certain workouts or take long breaks sometimes for weeks before returning to the gym due to these headaches. When I get a headache, it usually lasts for at least 30 minutes, to sometimes in excess of 2 hours. Sometimes I will wake up with a headache every day for as long as two weeks.I know for a fact that they stem from my neck as, when I feel a headache, I feel my neck muscles strained for whatever reason, and the pain stems into the head. Another reason why I know this is because nearly every morning, and often at night, when lying down in my bed for a significant amount of time, if my pillow isnt perfectly positioned for the ideal neck support angle, I get a headache.I have, of course, sought professional diagnosis and treatment for my condition, but have so far been unsuccessful in making any progress. I went to the doctor on a few occasions. I have taken a CAT scan and X rays which came back negative, and now I have been to 2 different physiotherapy offices. The first merely instructed me to do extremely simple neck stretches which I could have found in five minutes on the internet so it was useless. The next physiotherapist I tried I just finished my final session with because I have to go to university. He was the first person that gave me a diagnosis, although I am only now starting to doubt this diagnosis since he asked me to book an osteopathy session with him for craniosacral therapy.A quick google search brings up results that this style of therapy is quackery. The other things that he has been doing with me are spinal manipulation as well as stretches and hooking me up to the electrolysis machine. Since beginning my sessions with him nearly a month ago, I have made 0 progress, but remained optimistic. The optimism is now waning however, and I am worried that this problem will be a part of my life for a long time, forcing me to suffer through many more years of headaches and physical inactivity due to the fact that when I get these headaches, any strain on the neck only aggravates and perpetuates the problem. As a young and otherwise extremely healthy 18 year old, this isnt normal, especially since I have no idea how this condition came about. Is there anyone that may be able to shed some light on my condition based on what Ive told you? It would be greatly appreciated since my options are running slim at this point as I am moving away. Sorry for the wall of text I appreciate any time and help you guys give me
How long after a neck injury should I wait to lift?
I was out quad riding a few days ago and I had flipped off the back and landed on my neck, then got back on and continued to ride for about five more hours. I went to the ER that night and I had slightly bruised a disk and have a sprain. They sent me home painkillers and a neck brace to wear for 2 3 days. It's been 4 days and it feels just fine, still a little bit stiff in the morning, but no pain or any troubles moving it. I forgot to ask how long I need to wait to start working out and lifting again... does anyone have any idea?

Symptoms of neck injury in babies?
I have a 5 month old baby boy and just now when I was putting him down on his mat I was holding his head and bum and he was looking sideways to the left all of a sudden he looked to the right really fast and I didnt have time to hold his head on time and it got flung to the side and I couldnt support it. Actually I think the baby stopped it on his own. I'm really really very worried right now but the baby didnt cry one bit he didnt even flinch....Im just really scared. What symptoms should I look out for? Vomiting, drowsiness etc right? and for how long? is it 24 hours?...if nothing happens in 24 hours that means hes not hurt right?I'm a first time mom and really worried about brain damage etc...
What can a neck injury affect? ?
Can neck injury affect my nerves and bones? One day we had a pratice in my MMA class and it went pretty normal until my coach demonstrated some techniques to me. He sort of made a traingle formation with his one leg and the other touching the ground the what he did was he put my neck in the triangled formed leg and started to pull it pull my neck from the rest of my body. I quickly tap because it hurt alot but it was too late. He stop already then i noticed that if i turn my head right and left it makes some popping sounds. If i look up it hurts too. Difinietly i have a neck injury right? Can this affect my other organs or etc?
How to handle hair care with bad neck injury?
I have a very painful neck injury and a bad case of knotted up hair. I hurt my neck such that I cannot move very much without lots of pain several broken vertebra with protruding hernias that are pressing my spinal chord and nerves . Because I haven't been able to wash my hair myself in several days and I have very curly and easily kinky hair, it is now full of knots including a big " nest" knot at the base of my head.I couldn't brush through it like I usually do in the shower because I cannot raise my left arm over my shoulder. Even doing so with my right arm, just barely a tug at a small knot, would send my pain through the roof Without barely being able to move my neck around or jostle it, can anyone tell me how I can get this total knot head untangled?Any help would be so appreciated Rose
How should I be sleeping with a neck injury?

Is my neck injury serious?
Okay so I know I'm overreacting by saying injury but I just want to be safe. So last night I was running up to my friend to give her a hug but, without knowing I was running to her, she turned in a way that when I got to her her shoulder hit the bottom of my throat in between my collarbone. The next day today my throat has been hurting a lot, granted I've had a cold for the past week. I'm really scared because when I researched throat trauma websites said it could kill you if serious enough. Please help.
Neck Injury...Help please?
2 years ago 2009 I had an injury, when I was doing a cartwheel I lost my balance and I fell to the rubber floor with my head first immediately after that I cannot move my head already because of the extreme pain and the stiffness. I used to apply hot packs after that incident but it still won't go. I had an X ray and the result said that it's a chip fracture, the doctor said that I should just wait until the pain eases. It has been a year 2010 and nothing is happening the pain just lessened so I consulted another doctor and he said that I should undergo physical therapy. I already had 12 sessions but there is no improvement. I have been doing the advice of the therapist to exercise it and apply hot pack but nothing is working. Now the part between my neck and shoulder is stiff and it has nodules or has some circular lumps. The pain is just little but I feel that my neck is tired that I can't hold my neck in one position only and it bothers me a lot. It's already been 2 years since the injury and the pain only lessened. My question is What should I do to make it go away nodules, neck pain, stiffness, and the tiredness ? Should I apply cold or hot packs? Please Help Me. Thanks in advance.
