Are You Suffering from Neck Pain?

The more you know about neck pain causes the better off you will be. Believe it or not, most people suffer from neck pain causes at some point in their life. Yours may be more serious than others, or maybe it is just a minor tweak. But no matter what, if you know what this is all about and how to address the problem you will be better off. This is one of those potential health concerns that you want to know a lot about even if you are not suffering.

So what neck pain causes are most common? It is hard to say what cause is the most common of them all, but many believe that it is muscle strains. If you pull a muscle in your neck or back it can lead to a lot of pain in the area. In fact, the pain can be so bad that it may make you wonder if you didn't hurt yourself in another way.

Of course, there are more serious issues that can come up over time. For instance, a herniated disk can lead to a lot of pain and eventually cause problems in other areas as well. This is something that needs treated by an experienced doctor, and may even call for surgery depending on how bad your situation is.

Finally, another one of the most common neck pain causes is injury. This can include anything from a car accident to falling down. Landing on your neck the wrong way or being suddenly hit without notice can lead to injury to the neck and back.

If you are suffering from neck pain it is important to receive a proper diagnosis. Even if you think you know what the problem is you should see your doctor just to make sure. Neck pain is not something that you want to take lightly as minor problems can linger and get worse over time.

Now that you know more about neck pain causes you are in better position to handle this problem should you begin to suffer.

Must remove bone from my cervical neck region and stop bone from growing back into intervertebral foramen.?
I must eventually remove bone that is pressing against the nerves coming out of the cervical region C 4 & C 5. A neurosurgeon can remove them but in most patients it grows back causing extreme pain. I need a way to stop the bone from growing back into the intervertebral foramen while not injuring the soft muscle and neural tissue in the neck. What ideas do you have?

Is my cervical neck pillow hurting me?
I've had neck shoulder problems for 5 years. There's not a day that goes by where I don't wake up with a stiff neck, stuck joint, or general muscle soreness tightness. I have a slightly herniated disc at C6 C7. Every doctor I've seen for this, from chiros to pain management guys, have told me to use a cervical neck pillow. I went through several of the cheap ones from Wal Mart, before going out and investing in a pricy, higher quality one from Sharper Image. It's more or less a rebranded Tempurpedic. My pain never really got better, but it wasn't getting worse.A few nights a week, I've found myself using a good old regular foam pillow, and my pain joint problems have decreased. Is it possible the cervical pillows are hurting me? I'm thinking that the structure of my neck doesn't " match" the hump and groove on the pillow.I sleep on my side.

I have lumbar back pain what can I do to make the pain stop? I also have cervical neck pain from degenerative?

Anyone have side effects from cervical (neck) steroid injection?
I had one done on July 31st...Since then, I have had excruciating headaches and have trouble falling asleep...also, my neck feels stiff and I have trouble moving it side to side, feels like my head weighs 100 pounds.. when I move my head down, there is not as much flexibilty as there was before and I feel pain going down my spine to where the injection was.I have been up until 5 a.m. every night since this. I also take 100 mg of neuorotin...before the shot, I could take this pill at between 8 and 9 p.m. and be asleep by 10 30...Has anyone had similar experiences, or can tell me if this is all related to the shot...Thanks

Hi, I went to the ER this morning and the nurse practitioner said I have a cervical neck strain. She did not order any Xrays, just felt in the area.I was looking way high in the sky and tilted my head back almost to my shoulders one day as I was taking pictures in the sky. CAN this be the cause and do you think they were correct to give me muscle relaxers ? I felt VERY, VERY rushed, so I don't know if this make sense, do you think it sounds right what they told me w o doing any testing? AND....they said there is a group of muscles right there under your neck and shoulder area, is that true?? That's were it hurts me really bad Thank so much

I have a central cervical (neck) slipped disc. Is it possible that this could be causing lower back and leg pa?
I was diagnosed by MRI scan about 3 months ago as having a slipped disc in my neck. My consultant said it is more of a problem than usual as it has slipped to the right but also centrally, meaning it may be putting pressure on my spinal cord. I have suffered for a while with right arm pain, numbness, tingling. I have also suffered with bouts of right leg pain. Sometimes I can have pain from my neck all the way down to my toe I am gettingSorry, some of the information seems to be missing I am getting a lot of lower back pain aswell. I am in physio therapy and have been referred to a pain specialist for an epidural as my consultant is not happy with how long it is taking to get better. PT seems to offer short term relief. Also been referred to a neurologist due to dizzy spells and black outs that seem to coincide with pain and excercise
